Meet Me…
Welcome to Gilded Oak. I believe thoughtful design has the power to transform the way we experience the spaces around us—whether it is the comfort of a home, the productivity of a workplace, or the atmosphere of a commercial environment. My approach is rooted in creating spaces that are beautiful, purposeful, and thoughtfully designed around the people who use them.
I hold a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where I developed a comprehensive foundation in architecture, art, and interior environments. My education combined creative exploration with the technical and practical aspects of the built environment, allowing me to develop a design approach that balances artistic vision with purposeful functionality.
Throughout my studies, I completed a diverse range of residential and commercial design projects, with an emphasis on sustainable practices, thoughtful spatial planning, building code compliance, and accessibility. I incorporated ADA Standards into my designs and developed a strong understanding of how thoughtful design can support safety, comfort, accessibility, and the long-term needs of the people who experience a space.
My education and project experience have further developed my expertise in lighting design, spatial planning, color psychology, building and accessibility regulations, material selection and application, sustainable design practices, and aging-in-place principles. I approach each project with the understanding that successful design extends far beyond visual appeal—it should enhance the way people live, work, gather, move, and interact within their environment.
For residential projects, I focus on creating spaces that feel personal, comfortable, functional, and reflective of the people who call them home. For commercial projects, I consider how design can support a business's identity, functionality, workflow, customer experience, and overall sense of place. Regardless of the project type, I believe every space should have a thoughtful balance of beauty, purpose, and practicality.
Whether I am designing a private residence, a single room, a complete renovation, a workplace, hospitality environment, retail space, or another commercial setting, I take the time to understand the unique goals and needs of each project. I thoughtfully consider how materials, lighting, color, layout, accessibility, and architectural elements can come together to create an environment that feels cohesive and intentional.
With a multidisciplinary foundation and a passion for thoughtful design, I bring together beauty, function, sustainability, accessibility, and longevity to create interiors that are not only visually compelling, but enduring, responsive, and meaningful to the people who inhabit and experience them.

The Story Behind the Name
Gilded Oak Design Studio
The name Gilded Oak represents the philosophy at the heart of my studio: creating residential and commercial spaces that are grounded in authenticity, elevated through artistry, and designed to endure.
An oak tree begins as a small acorn, developing slowly and intentionally over time. Its strength comes from deep roots, a solid foundation, and the ability to grow and endure through generations. To me, the oak represents the foundation of thoughtful design—purposeful space planning, quality materials, enduring craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of how people live, work, gather, and experience a space.
The design begins at those roots.
I look beyond surface-level improvements to understand the architecture, history, potential, and purpose of each property. Whether I am designing a forever home, renovating an existing residence, transforming a property for resale, or creating a commercial environment that supports a business and the people it serves, I approach every project as an opportunity to uncover what is already valuable and thoughtfully build upon it.

For centuries, gilding has been a meticulous craft used to elevate the ordinary into something extraordinary. To me, it represents refinement, craftsmanship, and the beauty found in carefully considered details—from thoughtfully designed lighting and rich natural materials to custom millwork, distinctive hardware, curated furnishings, and the subtle elements that make a space feel complete.
Together, Gilded Oak represents the marriage of the raw and the refined.
The oak is grounded, organic, enduring, and strong. The gilding is refined, luminous, artistic, and distinctive. One provides the foundation; the other brings the artistry. Together, they reflect my approach to design: creating residential and commercial spaces that balance warmth, sophistication, character, function, and longevity.

REFINE
I believe great design begins with thoughtful consideration.
I refine spaces by understanding their architecture, improving their function, elevating their materials, and highlighting the details that make them unique. Refinement may mean restoring original character, improving an inefficient layout, selecting enduring materials, or introducing carefully considered finishes, furnishings, and architectural details.
Whether I am designing a home, transforming a commercial space, or renovating an investment property, I focus on creating meaningful improvements that enhance both beauty and value.
I don't renovate simply to make a space newer. I refine it to make it better.
REIMAGINE
Every space holds possibilities.
I look beyond what a property is today to envision what it could become. Through creative space planning, thoughtful material selections, architectural details, and intentional design, I reimagine spaces to better serve the people who live, work, gather, and experience them.
I look for potential where others may see outdated, overlooked, or underutilized spaces. Whether creating a more functional home, a distinctive commercial environment, or a property positioned for investment, I consider not only what adds value, but what makes a space feel desirable, purposeful, and beautifully connected to its surroundings.
I look beyond the current condition to reveal the possibilities within.
REVIVE
I believe in giving spaces—and the materials within them—a second life.
Reviving a property may mean restoring architectural details, preserving original materials, repurposing existing elements, incorporating vintage or antique pieces, or transforming a neglected space into something thoughtfully designed and renewed.
This philosophy extends to both residential and commercial projects, as well as investment properties. Rather than treating spaces as disposable, I see each one as an opportunity for meaningful transformation. By combining strategic renovation with intentional design, I create spaces with renewed purpose, lasting appeal, and enduring value.
I don't simply transform spaces. I revive them.

In a world of rapidly changing trends and fast-fashion interiors, I take a more intentional approach. I value quality over quantity, thoughtful renovation over unnecessary replacement, and timeless design over fleeting trends—whether I am designing a residential home or a commercial environment.
Whenever possible, I preserve existing architectural character, incorporate vintage and antique pieces, thoughtfully reuse materials, and select durable, responsibly sourced products. I believe the most sustainable choice is often to recognize the value in what already exists and find thoughtful ways to build upon it.
For me, sustainability is about more than the materials I choose. It is about extending the life of buildings, reducing unnecessary waste, and creating spaces that people will want to live, work, and experience for many years to come.
Even within a renovation or investment property, I believe there is beauty and value in what already exists. Good design doesn't always require starting over—it requires seeing what is worth keeping and knowing how to make it better.

My design philosophy celebrates the natural beauty of materials such as wood, stone, linen, metal, and other enduring elements. I believe these materials become most compelling when their inherent qualities are respected rather than concealed.
The oak provides the foundation.
The gilding provides the artistry.
Together, they create interiors that feel grounded yet elevated, timeless yet personal, refined yet inviting.

Just as an oak can stand for generations, I strive to create interiors with that same sense of longevity.
For residential clients, I design spaces that can evolve with the people who inhabit them—homes that grow, adapt, and accumulate meaning over time. For commercial clients, I create environments designed to remain functional, distinctive, and relevant as businesses and their needs evolve. Even with investment properties, I focus on creating spaces with lasting appeal rather than designing solely for the moment.
I believe the most successful interiors are rarely those that look as though they were purchased or renovated all at once. Instead, they are thoughtfully layered with pieces that have meaning, materials that develop character, and details that reveal themselves over time.
